Dreams for Mayan Children provides the children with basic but much needed school materials in the classroom. Our support to small Mayan communities helps improve the educational level of children living southeast of México, in the Yucatan Península.
Our vision of every child receiving a basic education in each of these communities and the creation of future programs to support continuous education is of most importance.
Dreams for Mayan children is non-profit charitable organization caring for the children's initial years of school education. Our strong belief in giving the children the chance of a better future lies at the heart of our organization, and supporting them through continuous education our vision.
Working together, a small and dedicated group of people can truly make a difference. Join us. Read more about our work and how you can help.

Children from Mayan communities in the region of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico are using radio to create a bridge between generations, cultures and local communities.
Aged from 7 to 13 years, the children are developing and broadcasting their own radio programmes as part of a joint initiative between the Comisión Nacional para el Desarrollo de los Pueblos Indígenas (CONADEPI) and IFAD.
DMC is working hard to raise $5,000 dollars!
To build a 400 meter chain link fence/block to enclose the school, with the help of volunteers, parents and many more this wish will come true.
Repair the uneven cement floor in the Punta Laguna school and replace it with tile.
Donate school supplies, clothing, toys and much more to both locations.
With your help, these dreams can come true for the children in Mexico. Thank you!

We are delighted to share the news with you that the Coba kindergarten and preschool have just been granted funds by the Chetumal education department and the Municipio de Tulum for a small play ground.
But, there is still much more improvements needed. For many years this one class room school have had very little help from the government. The children have had no bathroom, they wash their hands with a small garden hose where the water just trickles out. They have no shade and the school is not yet fenced.
DMC has been working diligently side by side with Mrs. Norma Mendoza, one of the teachers and the Municipio de Tulum to improve the schools for the children.
Dreams for Mayan Children provides children with basic but, much needed school materials in the classrooms. Our support to small Mayan communities, help improve the educational level of children living southeast of Mexico, in the Yucatan Peninsula.
The organization's commitment is to the children, we work with the parents and teachers to find the best way possible to provide the children with classroom materials for preschool and kindergarten. An education is the only chance of a better future for the children and their families , If a child does not attend school, they are most likely to work the fields (Milpas) alongside their families. It is my belief that a brighter future for the children lies in education.
God Bless,

Hola! welcome back and thank you for visiting Dreams for Mayan Children. My vision to help began several years ago when I visited these beautiful villages felt I had left the modern word behind and stepped into the magical Mayan world. Perhaps it's because I've been touched by all of my 95 beautiful children! Even though we are miles apart, they are in my heart, daily.
Many miles away from San Diego into the dense jungle of the Yucatan Peninsula, there are two small rural villages, Coba and Punta Laguna. Life is slow paced, simple and the Mayan culture still thriving. The people of Punta Laguna still live in huts and some bath in the lake. Coba has been recently connected to the electrical grid and is a precious commodity.
Perhaps the most important thing is that I have been fortunate to experience the Mayan culture, It’s language, customs, warmth and friendliness of the people and especially the children who are teaching me the Mayan language.
For the first time in my life it became apparent my purpose. To Be an advocate for the Mayan children. My vision of every child receiving a basic education in each of these rural villages and the creation of future programs to support continuous education is of most importance.
Selina Flower, Lynette Martinez, Alex Lovell, Christie, And many other friends, family members, local people and vacationers all have been a special part of Dreams for Mayan Children.
Every volunteer had contributed touching the hearts of the children, seeing such beautiful smiles, laughter and their eyes filled with excitement when visiting their schools. Our volunteers participating in art projects, dancing, singing, story reading ,sharing a talent or just having fun with the children.
On September 2011 all volunteers helped with the painting and cleaning of two schools. It was certainly a day to remember. In 2010, a magical mural was painted by our beautiful nurse Alex and her friend. The Mural took several days to complete under hot and humid weather.. the end result was fantastic! A mural for all the children to enjoy.
Because of many wonderful and generous individuals, Dream for Mayan Children has been able to reach many goals. The children and schools in Coba and Punta Laguna receive school supplies, toys clothing and so much more from people all over the world.
We tend to forget that these children do not play with electronic toys, these angels live a simple life, full of imagination and creativity when it comes to play time. The children play throughout the village and the jungle with their pets (monkeys and dogs), they swim in the lake and help their parents with everyday household chores. What a beautiful and simple life.
